the dust bowl
The Dust Bowl was a storm of sand that lasted nearly 8 years. Colorado, Texas, and Kansas became known as the Dust Bowl, which was where the storms started. Quickly the storms spread to the whole nation. The storm never stopped, it was sand everywhere, the people thought it would end every year but it lasted for almost a decade. 100 million acres of land were affected by these storms. The water dropped 5 feet or more. Everything was affected. The land that was supposed to be great to start farming turned into dust, ( the promised land ). People ended up packing their things and moving out away from the storm. The storm eventually caught up with them but these people kept moving. The storm caused the lose of jobs, farming, food, and clean water.
